GDPR & data rights

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy for visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
1. Data controller
The controller responsible for your personal data is the operator of freegameuniverse.org. For any data-protection request, contact contact@freegameuniverse.org.
2. Lawful bases for processing
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). For sending dispatches and browser push notifications. You give consent by ticking the box and accepting the browser prompt, and you may withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)). For keeping the Site secure, preventing abuse, and basic aggregate analytics, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)). Where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.
3. Your rights
- Access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — request deletion ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction — limit how we process your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.
4. Withdrawing notification consent
You can stop push notifications instantly by blocking notifications for this Site in your browser's site settings. You may also email us to be removed from all dispatch lists.
5. Processors and international transfers
We use a small number of processors to operate the service, including our push provider (OneSignal) and our hosting provider. Where data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, and delete it within 30 days of a valid erasure or unsubscribe request, unless the law requires otherwise.
7. Complaints
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concern first — please contact us.
